The Kanakapura
Road guide.
Everything worth seeing along this stretch of road and the countryside around it — with real distances and drive times from the resort, so you can actually plan the day.
What's around Ananta
Ananta sits directly on Kanakapura Road. Everything below is measured from the resort, by road, in normal traffic conditions.
Planning the drive
Best time to visit
Bengaluru's climate is mild through most of the year, which makes Kanakapura Road workable almost any month — but October to February is the easiest stretch, with clear skies, cool mornings, and daytime temperatures rarely above 28°C. The monsoon runs June to September and turns the countryside a deep green; the drives and waterfalls near Sangam are at their best then, though occasional heavy showers can slow the roads. March to May is warmer and drier, better suited to an early-morning or late-afternoon visit than a midday one.
How to get there
From central Bengaluru, the most direct route is straight down Kanakapura Road (State Highway 3) through Konanakunte, Talaghattapura and Thalaghattapura Cross — about 42 km and 75 minutes in ordinary traffic. If you're coming from the eastern or northern parts of the city, joining NICE Road at Kanakapura or Konanakunte and exiting onto Kanakapura Road can save you the slower stretch through Banashankari. Cabs and self-drive cars handle the route easily; the last few kilometres run through open countryside with clear signage to the resort.
Why this stretch of road is worth the drive
Kanakapura Road doesn't announce itself the way a hill station does — there's no single dramatic view you're driving toward. What you get instead is a gradual unwinding: the traffic thins out, the buildings give way to farmland and granite outcrops, and by the time you turn off toward the resort, the city already feels like a different day. It's this in-between quality, more than any one landmark, that makes the corridor worth the 75 minutes.
